Liem Kaplan has started an inspiring revolution with masks, hand sanitizer, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches out of his Sammamish, Washington home. His GivingHope Project has captured the attention of people around the country. He has received donations from Florida, Pennsylvania, and all over Washington State. A committed group of volunteers who consistently provide sandwiches, water, juice, homemade cookies, snacks, and love notes each week which he distributes to people who are homeless in Seattle.
This thirteen-year-old has been doing community service in the Greater Seattle area since he was 6 and has found his passion for serving vulnerable populations, many of whom are unhoused. Many assistance organizations had to shut down during the pandemic. He has distributed over 20,000 masks (as of November 2020), thousands of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, bagged lunches, pairs of socks, many other essential items, and as much love and hope he can give. |
